Compressors - Diagnostics

news

Main malfunctions of compressors - signs and reasons
1. Insufficient efficiency of the compressor.
•    leaky compressor’s valve;
•    damaged cylinder head washer;
•    seizure of the piston assembly;
•    leaky valves of the vehicle’s pneumatic assembly;
•    incorrect lines’ and valves’ flow capacity of the vehicle’s pneumatic assembly;
•    damaged or blocked energy saving assembly.

2. The compressor pumps oil to vehicle’s pneumatic assembly.
•    worn compressor’s piston assembly;
•    excessive scavenge of the piston assembly;
•    excessive suction resistance of the air flowing to the compressor (suction assembly).

3. The compressor pumps water (cooling agent) to vehicle’s pneumatic assembly.
•    damaged cylinder head washer;
•    flaw of the cast or broken cylinder head;
•    excessive temperature of the air pressed into the assembly.

4. Compressor slapping.
•    seizure of the crank-piston assembly;
•    pistons striking the head surface due to excessive residue of burned oil on pistons’ bottoms;
•    incorrect flow capacity of the vehicle’s pneumatic assembly (the most exposed to the decreased flow capacity is the line and its stubs placed between the compressor and dryer assembly and the slapping is most audible at the final pressure rise).
